During your first appointment with us, our main goal is to get to know you better as an individual. We take pride in the personal relationships we build within our practice with our patients. We are devoted to making sure that you are comfortable and feel at ease in our dental chair. The first appointment when establishing yourself as a new patient will consist of updating your previous dental records. If you already have up-to-date records (within a year), we ask that you notify our office staff and have them sent over.
Also, please assist us by providing the following information:
Your initial exam will last approximately one hour. Dr. Darr will perform a thorough exam and dive deep into what is best for your oral care. Generally, X-rays will have been taken at your records appointment, allowing Dr. Darr to further examine your mouth for tooth decay, periodontal problems, jaw problems and any signs of oral cancer. These diagnostic records will help Dr. Darr provide an evaluation outlining any existing dental problems and proposed treatment. We encourage you to ask questions. We’ll be glad to discuss any and all concerns our new patients may have.
We believe that good dental care begins with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about our diagnosis and recommendations, any alternative treatments, and any symptoms present that may require treatment from a specialist. Working together, we can achieve a true partnership, with one common goal – keeping your smile beautiful and your teeth, gums and jaw joints healthy!
